Thai Consumer Protection Police Seize Millions in Illegal Cigarettes and Alcohol

 

Thai police seize over 7 million baht worth of illegal cigarettes and alcohol at a private transport center in Songkhla.

According to a report from Pattaya News on October 27th, a private transportation center in Songkhla, Thailand was raided by the Consumer Protection Police Division (CPPD), resulting in the seizure of over 7 million baht worth of illegal cigarettes and illicit liquor.

Officials from the Consumer Protection Police Bureau have received a report from an anonymous source, which has revealed the smuggling of illicit cigarettes and alcoholic beverages through private transportation centers.

In this confiscation operation, a total of 7,340 illegal cigarette packs and 87 bottles of illicit alcoholic beverages were seized, with an estimated value of 7.2 million Thai baht. Investigators have seized the evidence for further legal proceedings and have promised to hold the individuals involved accountable for their criminal actions.
