A resident in Kofrov, Russia, has been detained for purchasing and storing unlabeled tobacco to sell at a lower price.
According to Russian media outlet vladimir, on November 13, the regional prosecutor’s office in Russia reported that the Kovrov regulatory authority had approved a legal document concerning the purchase and storage of unmarked tobacco for subsequent sale.
An investigation reveals that a resident of Kofrov purchased a large quantity of illegal tobacco via the Internet in 2022, amounting to approximately 5,000 packs. The individual intended to store them in a local market store for selling at a lower price, but the plan proved unsuccessful.
Following this, the man was detained, the tobacco was confiscated, and a criminal case was filed.
This case will be heard by the Kofrov City Court.
