On October 4th, the UK’s Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) unveiled a groundbreaking directive titled “Preventing the start: Our plan for a smoke-free generation.” The objective is to shield future generations from the harmful effects of smoking, thereby initiating the creation of the world’s first ‘smoke-free generation.’
The PHA expresses satisfaction with the ongoing nationwide public consultation, titled “Creating a smoke-free generation and addressing youth e-cigarette issues: your perspective.” Residents of all ages in Northern Ireland are urged to contribute their feedback, emphasizing the importance of public input in shaping this transformative policy. The consultation is open until 11:59 PM on December 6, 2023.
