UK discards 5 million disposable e-cigarettes weekly, enough to fill Loch Ness in under 6 weeks, posing environmental and safety risks.
According to the Ross-shire Journal, a recent investigation has revealed that in the UK, approximately five million disposable e-cigarettes are discarded each week, which is enough to fill Scotland’s famous attraction, Loch Ness, in less than six weeks.
A study also reveals that these products pose environmental challenges due to their internal lithium-ion batteries, as the lithium ions present in the batteries can potentially cause fires or explosions, posing a threat to the environment and personal safety.
