Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC), the capital city of Nepal, will completely ban the sale of tobacco products packaged in plastic in all 32 administrative districts starting from December 13, 2023.
Ram Prasad Poudel, the director of the Department of Health in the city, has announced a complete ban on the sale, storage, and use of tobacco products packaged in plastic, including cigarettes, cigars, and chewing tobacco, within the city jurisdiction.
