Indonesia Malang Customs Takes Action Against Illegal Tobacco

Indonesia’s Ma’Lang Customs crack down on illegal tobacco, seizing items worth over 1.44 billion Indonesian rupiah and causing potential losses of 768 million rupiah.

Recently, as reported by ANTARA, the Indonesian MaLang port has carried out three crackdown operations in the MaLang area to protect the residents within its jurisdiction from illegal tobacco.

At the same time, Indonesian Ma’lang Customs obtained information on the illicit tobacco circulation through the illegal tobacco application (SIROLEG). The authorities conducted market enforcement operations based on the information received from the application.

According to assessments, the value of the seized items has exceeded 144 million Indonesian rupiahs (around 660,000 yuan), with an estimated potential loss to the nation of up to 768 million Indonesian rupiahs (around 350,000 yuan). All the pieces of evidence have been safely retrieved and taken to the Indonesian Customs Office for further examination and processing.
