Bust of Major Illegal Sales and Distribution of Counterfeit E-cigarettes

 

A major illegal e-cigarette selling network was busted in Yinchuan, China, with a total value of over 30 million yuan.

In a joint operation with the Yinchuan Municipal Tobacco Monopoly Bureau and other departments, the Xingqing District Public Security Sub-bureau in Yinchuan successfully cracked a major illegal operation and sale of counterfeit e-cigarette network case. The case involved a total amount of over 30 million yuan.

According to a thorough investigation by the police, three storage hideouts within the city of Yinchuan were successfully raided. The operation resulted in the seizure of 14,800 counterfeit e-cigarette pods, 435 smoking accessories, and 12,833 disposable e-cigarette (tube) products such as “milk tea cups” and “soda cans,” with a total estimated value of 1.69 million yuan.

According to an investigation, suspects involved in criminal activities have been found to be wholesaling a large quantity of non-standardized e-cigarette products from Guangdong and other regions. These products are being sold both online and offline within the city of Yinchuan, Ningxia.

In a span of seven months, the task force involved in the case apprehended 11 suspected criminals, spanning across 16 provinces and cities nationwide.
