According to a report by Vietnamese media outlet Baomoi on December 7th, a major smuggling case was recently cracked down on by the Market Management Bureau of Khanh Hoa Province in Vietnam. A large quantity of unidentified goods were seized during the operation. The confiscated smuggled items included both everyday consumer goods and various electronic products, such as 720 fireworks and 1,000 e-cigarettes.
The incident of unauthorized trade using large trucks for smuggling has alerted the Market Administration Bureau of Kantu Province. The bureau’s Second Market Supervision Team discovered two suspicious freight trucks on National Highway 14 and conducted an administrative examination in accordance with procedures.
Law enforcement officers have discovered a diverse range of unidentified goods, including 720 fireworks, 1000 e-cigarettes, as well as various imported medicines, health supplements, herbicides, and insecticides.
The current case is currently under further investigation. Observers are calling for a strong crackdown on the act of smuggling goods, in order to maintain a fair competitive environment in the market.
