The City Council of Fairfield, Ohio has approved a nine-month moratorium that prohibits businesses with recreational marijuana permits from operating within the city, despite the state legalizing recreational marijuana.
On November 7th, Ohio voted to legalize recreational marijuana, making it the 24th state to do so. The law went into effect on Thursday and may be subject to modifications by the Ohio legislature. Currently, the law allows adults aged 21 and over to legally possess up to 2.5 ounces of marijuana, as well as to use and cultivate it. A 10% sales tax is imposed.
