According to a report from the Turkish news agency IHA, the Batman police department recently arrested 14 suspects in a smuggling operation.
According to a statement released by the government of Bateman Province, the police conducted multiple simultaneous anti-smuggling operations across the city in response to a report, aimed at preventing smuggling activities in the city center.
The subsequent investigation revealed that the police seized 2,519 packs of smuggled cigarettes, 20 smuggled mobile phones with chargers, 16 smuggled watches, 29 kilograms of water pipe tobacco, 31 e-cigarettes, and 100 smuggled cigars during this operation.
At the same time, 14 suspects were released from the police station after completing the necessary procedures. They have now undergone legal proceedings under the provisions of the Anti-Smuggling Act No. 5607.
